The School is Out
Today I finished grading and entered grades for my last class at DePauw. This brings to an end my first year of being a college professor. It has been an interesting and at times challenging experience. Hopefully, this year has prepared me well for further work in academia. Next year I'll teach at Wabash College, the oldest college in Indiana, and one of the few remaining all-male colleges in the US. Wabash is very proud of their tradition, and a traditional guy like me should find my own niche there. Granted, all liberal arts colleges are, well, liberal, but Wabash seems to have a very active undergraduate conservative movement. Furthermore, there are a few faculty members there as well whose views are right-of-center, and one of them (Stephen Webb) is a prominent member of the editorial board of First Things. All in all, I am looking forward to the next school year.
