Driving

Ever since Sharmin moved to Indiana, I've been driving a lot between Urbana and Greencastle. It's about hundred miles each way, and it takes me up to an hour and forty minutes to get there. For about seventy miles I drive on I-74, and since Indiana has recently changed to 70 mph speed limit, that part of my trip goes by pretty quickly. The rest of my trip is along US-231, and since it's only a one lane highway, my speed is largely determined by who do I get stuck behind. On a good day there is very little traffic, so I can zip by pretty quickly. Otherwise, I can get stuck behind and ox cart, and then all I can do is twiddle my thumbs and enjoy the scenery.

The scenery is actually the best part of the whole trip. 231 passes through some really picturesque, postcard-perfect areas. The landscape is filled with rolling hills, farmhouses and small towns. It's all very pretty and makes my journey that much more enjoyable.

I'm so glad you enjoy your journey. It makes me feel that much less guilty about all the effort you go through just to see little old me. btw, the ox cart was a ONE TIME event!! I've had more trouble driving behind old people in their big ass honky tonk cars. But after all those miles have gone by, when you finally come to my house, doesn't it just feel so great to be here? Like you're coming home? Well, news flash, when it comes to you, wherever there's Sharmin, there's always home.
